MILLING — SL 121 — BELL COUNTY
June 6, 2024
WACO – This Sunday night, June 9, TxDOT will start milling operations on SL 121 that will require various closures within the project limits. Sunday night, crews will close the I-14 eastbound frontage road from the I-14 eastbound on-ramp just west of W Avenue O to the I-14 frontage road/SL 121 intersection. Local traffic access will be maintained. The duration of the closure is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.
Crews will also perform milling operations Monday night, June 10 on SL 121 near the I-14 westbound frontage road. This will require the frontage road to be closed at SL 121, where traffic will be directed northbound or to the west to east U-turn. Additionally, SL 121 and the FM 93 (W 2nd Avenue) will be under traffic control with flaggers and flashing red signal conditions.
This work is part of TxDOT’s ongoing project to widen SL 121 from W Avenue O to Sparta Road to a fourlane divided highway, add shared-use paths and sidewalks, and add a two-way left turn lane from Sparta Road to FM 439.
TxDOT encourages motorists to slow down, eliminate distractions, and buckle up driving through work zones.
